THE RIGHT GLASS CLEARLY MATTERS

Choosing the proper picture frame glass for your framing project can have just as much of a “wow” factor as the choice of your frame and mat. Whether it’s to simply protect a print from harmful elements in the air, reduce reflection because of an adjacent window, or to protect artwork/memorabilia from the harmful rays of the sun, Framed In has just the right glazing solution for you. Read below to learn more about our 7 different glazing options.

Regular Glass

Regular Clear picture framing glass is a general purpose form of glazing and is recommended for picture framing when there are no concerns about conservation, fading or glare.

Reflexion Control Glass

Regular Non-Glare picture framing glass enhances the beauty of artwork with an etched matte-like finish that scatters light to minimize unwanted glare. Non-glare glass is recommended for picture framing when there are no concerns about conservation or fading.

Conservation Clear

Conservation Clear glass offers the highest level of UV protection available. Over time exposure to indoor and outdoor UV light rays can contribute to fading and deterioration of art, photographs and other important personal keepsakes. Conservation Clear glass effectively blocks up to 99% of UV light rays to protect against fading and help keep framed pieces brighter, longer.

Conservation Reflexion Control Glass

Conservation Grade UV protection glass is chemically etched on one side scattering light as it strikes the glass. Additionally, the UV protection helps protect fading and deterioration caused by harmful light rays. Conservation Reflection Control allows one to see the beauty of the artwork it protects without unwanted glare or distortion of the image.

Blocks 99% of harmful indoor and outdoor UV light rays. Can be used with up to three mats from artwork without significant resolution loss.

Premium Clear Acrylic

Acrylic Clear picture frame glass is a general purpose glazing, used as a substitute for regular clear glass. Clear acrylic glass is used typically because of size, weight, or breakage concerns.

Reflexion Control Acrylic

Acrylic Non-Glare picture frame glass enhances the beauty of artwork with an etched matte-like finish that scatters light to minimize unwanted glare. Non-Glare acrylic glass is recommended when you are looking for an anti-reflective glazing finish that can be used as a substitute for non-glare glass when there is size, weight, or breakage concerns.

Conservation Clear Acrylic UV-Protective

Acrylic UV Protective Clear glass protects works of art from the harmful effects of indoor and outdoor UV light rays. Over time, the ultraviolet rays in everyday indoor and outdoor light take a toll on artwork. Paper can become faded, discolored and brittle, causing irreversible damage that ruins the works of art.

The UV protection helps protect art from fading by blocking harmful indoor and outdoor light rays, preserving art for years longer than regular acrylic.
